The Roadmap So Far

Hello everyone! Thank you to those who have played Tell Me a Bedtime story, or my Game Jam Entry, Dream Survey. They were both fun to make for different ways, but I would like to talk to you about the former.

I had several ideas on how to handle the full version of TMABS, having the full map drawn out. I didn't feel I had enough feedback based on my current outline of it being good enough to continue. But hearing feedback on Dream Survey helped me understand what was going on with my first game: It was fine. I was looking for problems where there wasn't any.

With this revelation, I can now more confidently tell you what my plans with the game are. Or at least bits and pieces.

I plan to have two more releases, 0.8 beta, and then the full game. I was thinking of releasing it all in one major patch, but for reasons I will explain I didn't think it was a good idea.

In 0.8 I plan to add difficulty modes. The current mode of the game is what the "Normal" setting will be, and I will be adding an Easy and Hard mode to compliment it. The reason I want the just the difficulty modes in it's own patch was the original beta took at least a few days to balance by itself. So balancing two more modes is going to be a bit of work and I want to focus on that and not have the other content I have planned for the game tangled inside of it. I will throw in some things, but the full game release will be coming with a lot more of the "funner" and more interesting content.

After that, I may have a break, maybe another small game to keep me busy, then the full release of the game. I don't want to give a timeline because timelines make me nervous and not want to do anything, but I promise it won't be too long for 0.8, and then probably no longer for the full game release than between 0.6 and 0.8.

Thank you again, and I love you all. Stay safe. :)
